Myler Bits English Dee with Hooks MB04 The Myler Bits English Dee with Hooks MB04 has a slight port that allows the horse to swallow to keep him relaxed while moving forward. It is a D shaped ring with fixed attachment of the mouthpiece and slots "hooks" at the top and bottom of the ring for the bridle and rein attachment. When the rein hook is used it is an indirect action bit. If the rein hook is not used it is direct action. You choose where to attach the reins and bridle. There is a small hole behind the top slot for a curb chain. The slight port creates room for the tongue and is easier for the horse to swallow.
Attaching the headstall to the top hook holds the bit in the correct position instead of allowing it to slide around the bridle cheeks. Attaching the reins to the hooks allows the rider to lift the cheek and use the Independent Side Movement of the mouthpiece. Using hooks does not add leverage.

Stainless Steel 3 3/4" Dee with Hooks with Stainless Steel Low Port Comfort Snaffle (MB 04, Level 2) Copper Inlay.
The level 2 MB04 mouthpiece will rotate on the tongue and apply tongue pressure; however it has a slight port that allows the horse to swallow when he is moving forward and relaxed. The barrel distributes the pressure kindly on the tongue. The MB04 provides an excellent transition from level one to level two.
