Myler Bits Flat Shank MB06
The Myler Bits Flat Shank MB06 has a low wide port that is comfortable on the tongue for your horse. It is used in Western riding. It is a 7" length of flat metal curved slightly back towards the horse with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment and the entire shank moves independently of the mouthpiece. Each shank moves independently. The purchase is angled away from the horse to prevent rubbing. It has an indirect rein action and is designed to be used with a curb strap.

Myler Bit Level 2-3
Stainless Steel 7" Flat Shank with Sweet Iron Mullen Barrel Low Port (MB 06, Level 2-3) Copper Inlay Mouth.
This mouthpiece is made of polished Sweet Iron which naturally oxidizes or rusts. Harmless to horses, it has a sweet taste and promotes salivation.
The MB06 is the Myler alternative to the traditional mullen mouthpiece. It has a wider low port that allows the tongue to pass under the bit with comfort. The port is just high enough to allow the tongue to elevate and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. The lower port does restrict the tongue more than other level 2-3 Myler mouthpieces. When the reins are engaged, the 06 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lips. This mouthpiece has Independent Side Movement.
A curb chain or strap is recommended for ported mouthpieces
