Barefoot 2" Wide Stirrup Leathers

The Barefoot 2" Wide Leathers are double the width of the standard Barefoot English Stirrup Leathers. These leathers help stabilize the riders leg, with buckles located on the bottom to avoid bulk under the inner thighs and against the horse's back. These wide leathers are easily adjustable from the saddle and are great to use without chaps or boots since they won't pinch your lower leg.

  • No buckle pressure on the horse's back
  • Easy adjustment from the saddle
  • Nylon backing to avoid stretching
  • Provides extra stability!
Ordering Note(s): Sold as pair. We recommend these leathers for our models Barefoot Tahoe and Atlanta. All of our Barefoot brand western stirrups will fit these wide leathers.

Total length of leathers: 55"
Leathers will adjust from 18" to 25"

For instructions on how to put leathers on the saddle, click the Technical Specs tab.

5 of 5 Replaced western fenders on a Abetta saddle September 13, 2022
Reviewer: Anonymous Person
I wanted to try leathers instead of western fenders to ease knee pain, but didn't want to jump straight to narrow leathers. These have worked really well, but I will note that if you are tall they may be too short on a non-Barefoot brand saddle, I am 5'6" and only have 3 holes left of adjustment. They work well with my wide endurance stirrups.

4 of 5 Stirrup leathers too wide October 30, 2020
Reviewer: Sherri Farmer from Eatonton, GA United States
Love the quality, but they don't fit my barefoot saddle. There is no narrower part on the stirrup to fit through the hardware on my saddle. Very disappointed.

5 of 5 Amazing January 25, 2020
Reviewer: Heather Fox from Grand Marais, MN United States
These are awesome! Switching from riding English for 30 years to western has been a bit of a challenge for me, mostly because of leg pain I was experiencing from the position the fenders put me in. (Chair seat)
I installed these on my Circle Y High Horse and the difference is amazing!! They allow me to keep my leg underneath me and stable. I can also get them the proper length, which I couldn't do with the fenders. (I have short legs)
Highly recommend!

Leathers are working very well.  Nice and sturdy.  I like the fact I can put the Barefoot Kneeroll fenders on them or instead I can use fleece covers. Very good product.

Alas, they won't work on my saddle (its not a barefoot though). I will have to send them back.
